New England away was just what the Philadelphia Union needed to cure what was ailing them and Union II made it a weekend sweep with a win of their own over Revs II in New Hampshire. Are better times coming back again?

1. 🚂 Back on Track

New England Revolution were just the elixir the Philadelphia Union needed to get back on track and in the win column over the weekend.

A 14th minute red card definitely helped make things easier for the Union playing on the plastic at Gillette Stadium but as the cliche goes you can only beat the team in front of you and even if said team is a disaster three points are three points.

Daniel Gazdag’s brace earned him a spot on the Team of the Week and one goal shy of hitting double figures for the third straight season.

The NFL Stadium tour portion of the season continues on Saturday in Charlotte and before you even think it we won’t be talking about a certain game that was played there a couple years ago. The Union go in as the last remaining unbeaten team on the road in MLS and at 7 are now tied with the 2009 Chicago Fire for the second longest unbeaten road streak to start a season.

Daniel Gazdag’s first goal in New England on Saturday set a new MLS record for most goals scored by a duo in the same game in league history. That was the 16th time Gazdag and Julian Carranza have scored in the same game.

Not bad for a duo that’s only in their third season playing together.
